Battery Chargers

Many of the simple battery chargers are bulk/boost charge only, and have little, if any, voltage regulation. These are fine for a quick boost of flat batteries, but not to leave on for long periods. Of the regulated chargers, there are the voltage regulated (taper charge) and multi-stage types. The regulated ones maintain a regulated voltage on the batteries but as the battery gets charged up, the voltage goes up, so the amp output goes down. To get around this, the multi-stage chargers use a variable voltage to keep the charging amps more constant for faster charging.
